ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for new Personal Assistants for one of our female clients in her 50s with ALS, residing in Örebro!
You will have the opportunity to make a difference in this woman's life so she can live as normal a life as possible! You will be offered a fun and varied job in terms of tasks and pace, no day is the same.
Your workplace is her home and wherever else she may be. You will assist her in daily life by performing tasks she cannot manage herself, such as personal care, intimate hygiene, transfers, cooking, household chores, etc.
Working hours are scheduled according to a rolling schedule day, evening, and every other weekend. It is also important that you can step in as a substitute in case of illness, leave, or other types of vacancies! You will be part of a team of personal assistants selected for your client. Therefore, it is incredibly important to have a good work ethic, where everyone supports each other and can work with short notice when needed, due to illness, etc.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and chemistry.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You need to be quick-witted, have a good attitude, and be attentive, understanding, and patient, as well as being good at collaborating. You have the ability to take your own initiative, are self-sufficient, and can communicate directly, clearly, and honestly.
You must be able to speak and read Swedish fluently.
It is important that you have a solution-focused approach to work and can see different possibilities and solutions when a problem arises.
There are also tasks involving the handling of lifts, cough machines, and suction devices, so if you have experience with this, it is a plus. You must also be able to adapt to the individual’s own pace, which varies from day to day, depending on their condition.
You have a genuine interest and sense of care for people, with a professional attitude. You also have a flexible and independent working style and find it easy to adapt to new situations. You can take responsibility as you work based on the individual’s needs. You should also have good documentation skills.
Other qualities that are beneficial for the job include a good sense of humor, calmness, patience, and being responsible. You must be able to speak fluent Swedish as this is a job where good communication is very important.
It is a great merit if you have experience working in personal assistance and have insight into what ALS is and how it manifests.
As we care about our clients' safety and security, we have a routine of obtaining extracts from the criminal record for all individuals employed by the company. This means that upon hiring, we will request a record extract from you before you can start working.
