JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for an engaged resource teacher with after-school responsibility for our adapted primary school for grades 1-3. Together with a newly established team and a continuously growing operation, you will work with younger students with various functional variations, where each student's individual needs are in focus.

As a resource teacher with after-school responsibility, you play an important role in creating a safe, stimulating, and educational everyday life for our students with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. You are responsible for planning and implementing after-school activities, as well as working within the school's teaching alongside teachers and resource teachers, contributing to building a structured learning and playful environment that supports students' development, both socially, communicatively, and emotionally.

During the school day, you are a present pedagogical support for the students, both in teaching situations and during breaks. You actively participate in the daily work of creating continuity and safety throughout the student's school day. The focus is on motivating and supporting students based on their own conditions, with particular responsibility for teaching in the after-school program.

In collaboration with colleagues, you continuously reflect on the operation, analyze needs and areas for development, and plan actions to improve the quality of both after-school activities and the school day. The work also involves close and regular contact with guardians and student health personnel, as well as a certain amount of daily documentation and administration.

You will play an important role in building the new adapted primary school for younger ages in the municipality, which means that you will, to some extent, be involved in shaping the structure and content of the operation from the ground up. The position thus gives you the opportunity to influence and develop an operation where every child is given the right conditions to grow and succeed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a pedagogical education focused on after-school pedagogy, a teacher in after-school programs, or another equivalent education. It is advantageous if you have experience working in adapted primary schools or equivalent operations, and knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication, sign language support, and clarifying pedagogy.

You need to be able to meet students with understanding, respect, patience, and clarity, preferably with a low-arousal approach. You are responsive and flexible but at the same time structured and clear in your working methods. Good collaboration skills are important, as is the insight into the importance of cooperation with colleagues, guardians, and other professional groups in the school.
