SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Fagared is now seeking treatment assistants for summer positions at our two treatment departments in Öxnevalla, Marks municipality. The departments consist of two locked treatment units where you, as a treatment assistant, will work to build safe relationships and help ensure that our youth receive the security and safety they need to break old habits.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant during the summer, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and safety for our youth and clients, and you are responsible for the basics of daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You will also contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your job. You will work on building good therapeutic relationships and help ensure that our youth and clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of engaged colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job can be demanding but is also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a well-grounded positive view of people, great empathy, and the ability to create good therapeutic relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations.

Requirements are:

• Completed and approved upper secondary education
• B driver's license
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing as the job may involve some documentation and contact with other authorities

It is an advantage if you have experience in youth-related work or work with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, HVB operations, or from care and support. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Employment

The position is a fixed-term employment for a summer substitute. It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as a part-time employee before the summer period.

Working hours: Irregular working hours according to schedule. Either day, evening, and weekend shifts, or night shifts on weekdays and weekends.

As a summer substitute, you will undergo a tailored introductory training of 2 days. You must be able to participate in this introductory training to work with us.
