The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for youth and adults with substance abuse issues. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. No matter where in our organization you work, or what position you hold, you help create life-changing transformations.

SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminality, and substance abuse. We have departments in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg.

Job Description

SiS Youth Home Fagared is now seeking treatment assistants for summer positions at our departments in Lindome. In the Lindome departments, we implement closed youth care for boys who have been sentenced to a criminal penalty according to the law on closed youth care. We also have a treatment department with a particularly enhanced mission where we receive youth with extensive psychiatric and neuropsychiatric issues, including a combination of autism, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, PTSD, self-harming behavior, and severe acting-out behavior.

The goal of your mission is to motivate our youth to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines in the department function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our youth and are responsible for the basics of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Since SiS Youth Home Fagared receives youth who have been sentenced to a criminal penalty according to the law on closed youth care, you need to work with a high level of risk and safety awareness. You contribute to maintaining safety in accordance with our written instructions and routines.

This is a job for you who can endure and create security and safety in the often very difficult life situations of the youth. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Our core values are Respect, Care, and Clarity.

We want to reward those who help us during the summer period; therefore, those who work full-time as monthly employed substitutes for more than four weeks will receive a bonus.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good therapeutic relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations.

  • Completed and approved high school education
  • B driver's license
  • Very good Swedish in speech and writing as the work may involve some documentation and contact with other authorities

It is advantageous if you have experience in youth-related work or working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, HVB operations, or from care and support. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment:

The position is a fixed-term employment for the summer. It is desirable and advantageous if you can start working as a temporary employee before the summer period.

Working Hours:

Irregular working hours according to a schedule. Either day, evening, and weekend shifts, or night shifts on weekdays and weekends.

As a summer substitute, you will undergo a tailored introductory training of 2 days. You must be able to participate in this introductory training to work with us.

Application

Welcome to register your application in our recruitment tool by February 23, 2025.

Selection and interviews will take place continuously. Interviews will be conducted on 20/2, 6/3, and 20/3.
