Care Assistant in Home Care

In home care, we provide service and personal care based on assessed needs, in the client's home. The municipality of Skövde is divided into several geographical home care areas. The operation is part of the care and support sector in Skövde municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants an exciting and developing job. In the role of care assistant in home care, you have the opportunity to contribute to the quality of life for our clients. Our work is based on our guiding principles of safety, responsibility, and respectful treatment, and you are a large and important part of the client's well-being. You work carefully and professionally with clients in their home environment, in collaboration with others in the work team. This also means working for good cooperation with other professionals and relatives.

The area of responsibility in Östermalm's home care is geographically large, and you work both centrally and in rural areas.

As a care assistant, you are responsible for ensuring that our clients, based on their individual needs, receive social support and care, escorting, health care, and activation. The work also includes service tasks, such as preparing simple meals, dishwashing, laundry, and cleaning. The assignment also includes performing delegated and prescribed health care tasks according to the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL).

Documentation in our systems is also an important part of the work.

Within the care and support sector, we work flexibly between different units. This means that you will also work shifts in other home care areas than the one you normally work in.

QUALIFICATIONS

To work as a care assistant with us, you need to have a completed high school education from the health and care program or equivalent. It is an advantage if you have had other similar work, preferably with a specialization in dementia, elderly care, or welfare technology, as well as previous experience with delegated tasks.

As a person, you need to be responsible and service-oriented, putting the individual's needs at the center. You are good at collaborating with colleagues, clients, relatives, and other partners both within and outside your own organization. We believe that we build a better operation through collaboration and development together with others. You have an easy time creating relationships, and you have a respectful approach. Ideally, you are a loyal, curious team player.

A requirement for you to be able to work with us is that you have a B driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle. We want to contribute to a sustainable Skövde and care for the environment, so it is important that you can cycle, as we, where possible, cycle to our clients.

In this role, it is important that you can communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as you and the client need to understand each other, but also to carry out documentation. You have computer skills and preferably experience with social documentation.

Skövde municipality is a Finnish administrative area; if you have knowledge of the Finnish language, it is especially welcome.

As of July 1, 2023, the title of care assistant will be a protected professional title. This means that a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required to use the title of care assistant within health and care.
