About the Department

The Ear, Nose, and Throat Clinic at Sahlgrenska University Hospital is one of the largest ENT clinics in the Nordic region. We provide both acute and planned outpatient care, day surgery, and inpatient care with both acute and planned surgery. Specialist doctors and senior consultants at the clinic are organized into teams with specialized focuses. Areas of focus include head and neck cancer and other tumor surgeries, nasal and sinus surgery, facial fracture surgery, phoniatrics and airway surgery, otology and otosurgery including hearing implants, otoneurology/dizziness, as well as habilitation and rehabilitation. ST physicians work with general ENT, conduct internal rotations within the teams, and external rotations.

In addition to clinical activities, we also conduct education, further training, and development work. A strong focus on research and education permeates the entire operation.

What Do We Offer?

As an ST physician at our clinic, you will collaborate daily with some of the most qualified doctors in Swedish ENT healthcare. There are good opportunities to influence your work situation, and you are expected to actively participate in the development of the operation.

The ST position is preceded by a 6-month probationary period.

Job Responsibilities

You will work with the investigation and treatment of ENT patients within both acute and planned services. This includes working at the ENT outpatient clinic, ward work, surgery, day and night on-call duties, as well as external rotations. You will be assigned a supervisor and work to develop an ST plan that will guide your training.

About You

We are looking for a licensed physician. Previous experience at an ENT clinic or within a related specialty is considered an advantage. You have a strong interest in ENT healthcare at a university hospital and possess good communication and collaboration skills. You can quickly apply newly acquired knowledge to your clinical work, make well-founded clinical assessments, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment. You should be able to work independently, have a willingness for overall responsibility, and place the patient's needs at the center. It is advantageous to have ongoing research and/or to be a PhD holder. You should have a strong personal drive to achieve high competence in both clinical work and research. Personal suitability is highly valued.
