Together we develop Sahlgrenska University Hospital for a sustainable future

We are transforming healthcare with the goal of becoming Europe’s leading university hospital by 2032. Together with patients, we work for quality, accessibility, patient safety, research, education, and innovation – in a cohesive healthcare system in the Västra Götaland region. Our vision and goals aim for care of the highest quality, where the patient is always in focus. We provide healthcare locally and regionally, as well as highly specialized care to patients across the country and abroad. Our employees are our strength and contribute to knowledge exchange nationally and internationally. With digital tools and new working methods, we can simplify everyday life at the hospital and offer modern, accessible, and efficient care of the highest quality.

About the operation

The Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy department at Sahlgrenska University Hospital has about 350 employees across seven units located at Högsbo Hospital, Mölndal Hospital, Sahlgrenska Hospital, and Östra Hospital.

We have close collaboration between the units, particularly regarding introductory programs and network groups. Occupational Therapy Sahlgrenska has nearly 50 employees - occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and administrators. The workplace is knowledge-intensive, and we have several occupational therapists with master's, specialist, or doctoral degrees. We are organized into three workgroups, and each group has a section leader to support the work. Within and between groups, we assist each other in providing prioritized occupational therapy interventions to patients in acute inpatient and outpatient care.

Job responsibilities

We offer you a developing job in a well-functioning operation where clinic, research, and development are conducted side by side. As a newcomer to the workplace, you will receive an introduction according to our introductory programs, a close colleague as a supervisor, and a mentor within the operation. In addition to recurring internal training and advanced training in several clinical areas, there are good opportunities for an academic career in occupational therapy with a close connection to the operation. All to ensure that you can integrate into the work effectively and contribute to the development of the operation.

The patients require early interventions in specialties such as Geriatrics, Medicine, Oncology, Surgery, and Orthopedics or in Rheumatology outpatient care. We can offer a developing, educational, and varied workday.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a licensed occupational therapist. A strong interest in and experience with occupational therapy in acute care is advantageous.

About you

You view the varied work positively and have the ability to reprioritize, with the support of your colleagues, when more urgent interventions are required. You are confident as a person, have the ability to create good patient interactions, and collaborate in teams and workgroups. You want to contribute with your engagement, develop in your professional role, and have an interest in clinical development work.

Warm welcome to your application!
