We are now looking for a caregiver for a 6-month temporary position at the forensic psychiatric examination unit in Gothenburg, Hisings Backa.
Your mission
The suspects are housed at the unit during the investigation period. Under the supervision of a nurse, you will ensure that those admitted for forensic psychiatric evaluation receive good care, and together with colleagues, you will ensure that safety is maintained at a high quality. You will receive an introduction for this.
Qualifications
- Nursing education or other education/experience that the employer deems equivalent.
Meritorious
- Experience working in forensic psychiatric care, psychiatric care, or other work that the employer considers equivalent.
- Experience in forensic psychiatric investigative work.
Personal qualities and abilities
You have the ability to collaborate with others and respond to them in a sensitive manner; you need to be stable and occasionally able to handle stressful situations. You are also engaged and responsible in your work and act in accordance with decisions made and guidelines.
The work requires you to make correct assessments and priorities and to plan and organize your work effectively. You have the ability to view issues from an ethical perspective and express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing. The tasks also require that you have good physical fitness.

Employment
The position is a 6-month full-time temporary position, with start date according to agreement.
Placement at the forensic psychiatric examination unit in Gothenburg, Hisings Backa.
The National Board of Forensic Medicine applies individual salary setting.
We also apply irregular working hours, which means that you will work both daytime, evenings, nights, and weekends.
The NBFM is part of the judicial chain, and we have high demands on employees' judgment and security thinking, as well as respect for law and order. As a representative of the National Board of Forensic Medicine, you follow the state value framework and contribute through your actions to legal security, legal certainty, and trust in the authority.
We conduct a background check by checking the criminal record before employment. The NBFM applies a competency-based recruitment process where there may be psychological tests, knowledge tests, or work samples. Before employing licensed health and medical care personnel, checks are made with the National Board of Health and Welfare and the Health and Social Care Inspectorate.
Upon employment at the National Board of Forensic Medicine, there is an obligation to be placed in a war position.

The Department of Forensic Psychiatry investigates on behalf of the court whether a person suspected of a crime committed it under the influence of a serious mental disorder. We also conduct risk assessments when life-sentenced individuals apply for a time-limited sentence. The Department of Forensic Psychiatry consists of two forensic psychiatric examination units located in Stockholm and Gothenburg, as well as a coordination unit located at the headquarters in Stockholm.
