About the Role

We at Vattenfall IT Nuclear Solutions are now looking for a Network Technician to join our IT organization, which works on the development and delivery of IT services, with security as the guiding principle. Your main responsibilities will include daily operations and maintenance of network infrastructure as well as driving development in data centers. As a Network Technician, you will have a varied job with broad responsibilities in a delivery that encompasses everything from client access networks (LAN/WiFi), distribution networks (WAN/LAN) to data center networks.

We utilize several hardware manufacturers in our environments, which contributes to increased opportunities for development and broad competence. In addition to our core area, we also act as 3rd line support for issues related to Networking and connectivity. We also work with lifecycle management and are involved in exciting and challenging business projects.

As a Network Technician, you will be part of a team, but we also expect you to have the ability to work independently with external suppliers as well as colleagues across Sweden.

You will be part of a larger team consisting of both specialists and generalists, and for you as an individual, there are great opportunities for personal development and influence in the daily delivery.

Requirements

We would like you to have a good ability to understand new technology and troubleshoot varying sizes and complexities. We also hope that you, as an applicant, are trust-building, both within your own group and towards the rest of the organization. You thrive in change and have a natural drive for continuous improvement. You have good collaboration skills and a humble approach to the people around you. You enjoy collaborating with others and also have good structure in your own work. We would like you to have the following skills/experiences:

• Operation and monitoring of network infrastructure
• Good understanding of WAN, LAN, Routing
• Experience with products from e.g. Fortinet, Cisco, Juniper, Checkpoint
• Network security
• Basic scripting/programming experience (e.g. Python, Perl)
• Good communication skills in both Swedish and English, in both spoken and written form
• Driving license B
• 
  
• Preferred but not required for this position:
• Experience in network automation (e.g. Ansible, CI/CD, IaC)
• Experience with EVPN/VXLAN
• Experience with orchestration tools e.g. Cisco NDFC
• Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDN)
