The management office of Region Uppsala is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The management office is led by the regional director and consists of approximately one thousand employees. With a governing, supporting, and coordinating role, the management office is tasked with supporting the political leadership and administrations so that the political direction is reflected in the region's various operations. Our Operations

The IT Security Unit in Region Uppsala is looking for someone who wants to work with IT security in a large and complex organization. Our mission is to work with IT security across the entire organization, both operationally and strategically. With us, you will have the opportunity to work with IT security across many different operations where you have significant responsibility and many points of contact with both colleagues in the group and other roles within Region Uppsala.

About the Position

As an IT security specialist with us, you will be responsible for monitoring the IT environment to identify and act on IT security incidents. You will also work with proactive IT security measures such as identifying and addressing vulnerabilities, contributing IT security knowledge to projects and assignments, as well as conducting training in IT security. The IT Security Unit also manages its own support systems, and you are therefore expected to be responsible for and drive the management of one or more IT systems.

About You

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities and are looking for someone with a passionate interest in IT security. You need to enjoy working in a team and be driven by technical problem-solving while contributing new ideas. You take responsibility and see both the big picture and the details, ensuring results both independently and together with others. As a person, you are open and social, self-assured, have good judgment, and adapt while maintaining your own integrity.

Qualifications

• High school education or higher
• Several years of experience working with operations and support in IT
• Very good Swedish and good English in speech and writing

Meritorious

• Experience in IT security work
• Experience working with SIEM systems
• Practical experience in scripting and automation or other programming
• Experience in operations and management in complex IT environments with high IT security requirements
• Experience from large organizations or public sector

We Offer

A permanent full-time position with flexible working hours. Start as soon as possible according to agreement.

The workplace is located in the IT department's premises within the area of Akademiska sjukhuset, and there is an opportunity to work partially remotely. Swedish citizenship is a requirement, as employment in the IT Security Unit involves placement in a security class. For employment, a satisfactory result in the security review with a background check is required, conducted in accordance with the Security Protection Act.
