Fire Service Team Leader

Malung-Sälen Municipality is now seeking a team leader for the Fire Service with responsibility for the station and oversight in Lindvallen, Sälen. Organizationally, the fire service in Malung-Sälen is its own administration with its own fire committee. The fire service of Malung-Sälen Municipality is part of the Bergslagen Rescue Region (RRB).

The fire service consists of two part-time stations; one in Malung and one in Sälen (Lindvallen), as well as a smaller unit in Transtrand with two First Response Personnel (FIP). In the Western Sälen Mountains, there are two FIP personnel for five winter months. A rescue station is located in Tyngsjö, bordering Värmland. In the Western Sälen Mountains, there are plans to introduce a rescue station in 2026.

The geographical distances within the municipality are large, and there are about 10,200 inhabitants in our municipality. During the winter season, particularly the northern part of the municipality from Kläppen to Stöten is populated by many tourists, but tourism also increases in the summer. Many large investments are being made in the form of new constructions, which are continuously occurring in the area.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As the station manager and oversight manager located in the northern part of the municipality, you, together with the fire chief, are responsible for planning, leading, coordinating, and following up on operations, which encompasses strategic, tactical, operational, and accident prevention work. You contribute to creating good relationships both internally and externally and work for continuous development. Your role includes having good cooperation with both external and internal stakeholders. Together with the fire chief, you drive operational development to meet increased and new needs through smart and cost-effective solutions. Attracting, motivating, and retaining talent through strategic and sustainable workforce planning is an important part of the job.

As the station manager for Malung-Sälen Fire Service, your responsibilities include:

  • Site manager for the station in Lindvallen with leadership responsibility.
  • Plan, execute, and conduct regulatory oversight and inspections.
  • Planning daily staffing and scheduling of personnel.
  • Work with continuous recruitment of personnel, including conducting testing days.
  • Assist the fire chief during workplace meetings.
  • You will be part of the emergency response with incident commander duties every fourth week.
  • Responsible for equipment and materials at the station in Lindvallen together with the materials manager in Malung.
  • Represent the Fire Service in various networks and in contacts with the business community.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your clear, structured, and solution-focused approach facilitates your daily work and helps you prioritize and work towards goals and results effectively.

  • You have completed the Supervisory A training and the Leadership Course LK2/RÄL B.
  • You have experience in accident prevention work.
  • You have good knowledge of IT support in the field, such as Daedalos, Rakel, and other relevant systems.
  • A valid driver's license (B) and access to a personal vehicle are required. A C driver's license is considered an asset.
  • The position is security classified, and an approved security check is a prerequisite for employment.
