The Environmental and Community Building Administration is responsible for, among other things, environmental and health protection, building permits, GIS and measurement, as well as food safety. We are about 25 employees working closely together in shared premises, which makes collaboration easy and efficient.

In the Environmental and Building Unit, there is currently an environmental and building manager, a building permit coordinator, two building inspectors, a building permit officer, five environmental inspectors, and a food inspector. We are now looking for someone to step into the role of building permit officer/inspector as our current colleague moves on to new challenges.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a building permit officer/inspector, you will be a key person in our work to ensure compliance with the Planning and Building Act. You will work with supervision cases, but also process permits, notification cases, preliminary decisions, and shoreline protection cases.

Your tasks include, among other things:

• Processing supervision cases according to the Planning and Building Act and the Environmental Code (shoreline protection).
• Supervision visits and investigations regarding illegal buildings, residences, neglected plots and buildings, as well as easily remedied obstacles.
• Processing permits, notification cases, preliminary decisions, and shoreline protection.
• Conducting technical consultations, site visits, and final consultations.
• Writing decisions, statements, and service letters with proposals for the Environmental and Community Building Committee.
• Providing service and information to citizens.

You will work both independently and together with colleagues in a team where we support each other and value clear and simple communication.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute both competence and engagement. You have:

• Completed vocational training in building permit processing or another educational background that the employer deems relevant.
• Experience in supervision and processing of permits and notification cases according to the Planning and Building Act.
• Good experience working in digital environments.
• Driver's license B.
• Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Knowledge of the Environmental Code is an advantage.
