Description

We are now looking for summer substitutes for Älvkarleby Municipality's personal assistance, where you will have the opportunity to work in a stimulating and meaningful role where you can truly make a difference in people's lives.

Personal assistance is fundamentally about engagement for another fellow human being who needs help and support with various things in everyday life.

Within Älvkarleby Municipality's personal assistance, about 40 personal assistants work to be there for our users regardless of the time of day. Our personal assistance is divided into two different units, and together we work throughout the municipality.

Job Responsibilities

In personal assistance, you work closely with our users, providing help with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, transfers, cooking, training, maintaining a home, and activities. As a personal assistant, you are a support and help the user create structure and security in their daily life.

Working hours vary, and there may be night work as well as on-call duties. The work may also be performed for several different users. Working in personal assistance often involves solitary work. You will often work in the user's own home. There are both child and adult cases, and in cases where you work with child assistance, you will work closely with the family and guardians.

Your tasks also include performing social documentation and being involved in the establishment of individual care plans.

In the job, walking, driving, and cycling may be relevant as means of transport.

Qualifications

It is important that you enjoy meeting, supporting, and helping other people. Being attentive, humble, and having respect for the equal value of all people are important qualities. The job includes communication and documentation. Therefore, you need to be proficient in Swedish, both spoken and written, and be accustomed to using a computer. Knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to SFI course D is required.

Since the work often involves solitary work, we are looking for someone who is secure, independent, and meticulous. You are calm, kind-hearted, and have a professional attitude. You put the user at the center, are responsible, and have good collaboration skills. The job as a personal assistant can be physically demanding, so it is important that you have good physical ability.

If you have studied in the Nursing Program or have other education and experience that we assess as equivalent, this is meritorious.

A driving license is meritorious; in certain assistance cases, this is also a requirement.

The work involves both day, evening, and weekend shifts, and in some operations, also night shifts. We would like you to be able to work most of the summer, so that both you and the organization can have continuity.

For work within Älvkarleby Municipality's care operations, a criminal record extract is required.

Valid ID and right to work in Sweden

To work in Älvkarleby Municipality, you need to present a valid ID that shows your citizenship. In some cases, you may also need to show a document that proves you have the right to work in Sweden. If you are offered employment, you must be able to show one of the following:
