As an occupational therapist in elderly care, you support the independence and quality of life of older people, with the user at the center. Linné and Nora are located in Sävja in a quiet and beautiful environment, with the forest as a close neighbor, about 5 kilometers south of Uppsala. Linné is a care home with 40 apartments distributed over 2 floors. 20 places are for general care and 20 places are for dementia care. On the 3rd floor is Nora, with a total of 20 places for short-term care for patients with a dementia diagnosis or cognitive impairment. Patients usually come from the hospital but sometimes from their own homes.

Organizationally, you will belong to the Health and Medical Care Department within the Department of Health and Social Care, which means you will have close access to a large community of licensed colleagues, and your immediate supervisor is licensed. As an occupational therapist at Linné or Nora, you will work during the day and be part of a large team consisting of one other occupational therapist, nurses, physiotherapists, care staff, and the manager of the respective residence.

Description of Duties
As an occupational therapist in elderly care, you will have a varied and meaningful assignment. You will, among other things:

  • Conduct your own assessments of ADL (Activities of Daily Living), mobility, and need for assistive devices.
  • Participate in care planning and be responsible for prescribing and testing assistive devices.
  • Perform supervision of medical technical products (MTP).
  • Be part of the facility manager's leadership group together with other licensed staff and team representatives.

Qualifications
We welcome both experienced and newly graduated licensed occupational therapists. You must be able to speak, read, and write Swedish fluently and have good computer skills. Experience working with elderly people and diseases related to aging is an asset.

As a person, you find it easy to adapt when conditions change and see opportunities where others see obstacles. You have a clear focus on goals and results, and work in a structured way to achieve them. Furthermore, you enjoy collaboration and have a good ability to listen, communicate, and build trust. You are confident in making decisions and show good judgment in your actions.
