Technical Specialist in Hydrogeology

Job Responsibilities

Hydrogeology within the Swedish Transport Administration's construction projects involves investigating and understanding the hydrogeological conditions for the facility, as well as managing risks associated with groundwater impact and its consequences for the project and the surrounding environment.

As a specialist in hydrogeology, you will support and guide the projects throughout the entire process, with a particular focus on permits for water activities related to groundwater drainage. You will review and approve deliveries within hydrogeology based on quality, legal compliance, and regulatory requirements. Since groundwater issues often involve multiple disciplines, you will work closely with environmental, legal, geotechnical, rock engineering, and drainage teams.

An important part of the role is to contribute to the development of methodologies and strategies within hydrogeology, drive research and innovation issues, participate in agency collaboration, and share experiences between projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • To be a technical leader and strategist within the projects assigned to you
  • To participate in technical and program/project meetings
  • To review and ensure the quality of suppliers' designs and reports
  • To represent the Swedish Transport Administration before supervisory authorities in permit processes and control programs
