The area of operations (VO) intensive and perioperative care (IPV) Malmö is responsible for ensuring that patients at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Malmö receive good pain relief, anesthesia, surgical care, postoperative care, and intensive care. We provide anesthesia and surgical care in surgery, vascular surgery, urology, gynecology/obstetrics, orthopedics, ear, nose, and throat, plastic surgery, and hand surgery for both children and adults in our five operating rooms. VO IPV Malmö is responsible for highly specialized, primarily acute, intensive care in our intensive care unit with twelve beds. We are responsible for the hospital's overall sterile technical operations and Sus Malmö's pain treatment unit for acute, postoperative, and cancer-related pain. Approximately 600 employees work at IPV Malmö, of which about 80 are doctors. The operation is well-functioning and the staffing of doctors is good.

IPV Malmö has recently moved into newly built and state-of-the-art healthcare buildings with spacious and functional premises.

JOB DESCRIPTION

VO IPV Malmö is now looking for four doctors for positions as senior physician, assistant senior physician, or specialist physician. Here, you will work in a modern work environment with good opportunities for research, operational development, and subspecialization. You will also act as a supervisor for medical students, resident doctors, and specialty training doctors.

You will be offered a comprehensive introduction to our broad operations. We take into account your personal preferences regarding tasks, and together with your manager, you will develop a personalized development plan. The work primarily includes service in the operating rooms, but you will also work in the intensive care unit. If interested and personally suitable, a position as unit responsible physician in one of our units may become relevant.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed physician with the authority to practice in Swedish healthcare. You have specialist competence in anesthesia and intensive care. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale is a requirement. You must have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision.

For the position of assistant senior physician, it is required that you, in addition to the above:

• have at least 5 years of clinical service and independence within the main specialty beyond the obtained specialist competence, clinical skill, and that you are established as backup
• at least one defined medical responsibility and knowledge area

It is also required:

• completed or planned clinical supervisor training
• documented teaching and/or supervisory merits

For the position of senior physician, in addition to the above, it is required:

• that you have a doctoral degree

Disputation and/or specialist examination can be credited for a total of six months of clinical service.

It is an advantage if you have research merits.

You need to have good collaboration skills, be interested in taking on new challenges, and have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

In a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as doctors in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral students. Clearly describe in your application completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience in supervision, and teaching at different levels.
