About Us

The psychiatric emergency department is part of the psychiatric clinic at Mälarsjukhuset and collaborates with the clinic's inpatient departments, outpatient clinics, the psychosis unit, and other external authorities, etc. The psychiatric emergency department employs licensed nurses, mental health workers, and medical secretaries. The workgroup has a broad and long professional experience.

Your Responsibilities

• Telephone counseling, which includes assessing urgent psychiatric cases.
• You will collaborate with our backup and primary care doctors and attend medical visits at the clinic.
• General tasks at an emergency department are also included, such as sampling, etc.
• You will also be part of our mobile team that works with support for psychiatric patients and their relatives at home, follow-up of previous treatment contacts, and relieving during temporary crises related to mental illness, etc.
• The mobile team assesses conditions during home visits in cases that are difficult to assess via phone or are considered to be of acute serious psychiatric nature.
• In the department's on-call assignments, child and adolescent psychiatric cases for young people with more serious mental health issues are also included during on-call hours.
• The work requires good organizational skills.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed nurse with further education in psychiatry or experience in counseling work. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as the ability to take initiative, work independently, and have good collaboration skills.

Employment Type

Permanent employment with start date according to agreement. Working hours are scheduled day and evening shifts and every other weekend.
