Job Description

Would you like to do your thesis work in our Systems Engineering section? We currently have 12 consultants who help our clients develop and maintain optimized and sustainable systems and services, based on Systems Engineering methodology. Our competencies and experiences can be used for both commercial and critical societal operations, as well as to strengthen Sweden's security and defense capabilities.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who plans to conduct their thesis work (30 credits) in the spring of 2026 and who is studying engineering programs such as Technical Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems in Technology and Society, IT, or Industrial Economics. It is important that you are interested in (and preferably have taken a course in) Systems Engineering and also have some experience in programming, web development, and project processes.

The thesis work in the Systems Engineering area is suitable for those interested in the following:

• System of Systems perspective / Systems Engineering
• Lifecycle perspective through ISO 15288
• Programming and development of web applications
• Processes within projects
• Working in the defense sector

Since a larger part of the thesis work involves developing and configuring a web application, some experience in programming is required. As the application may be based on existing software with accompanying documentation, you do not need to be at an expert level.

Job Description

The thesis work will include a balanced mix of project planning, systems engineering, reading, requirements gathering, analysis, programming, and testing of a web application that you will develop.

The web application should function as a common space where project members can access information and documents for their specific projects. The application will preferably be based on existing open-source software that you will further develop and configure based on a requirements specification that you will also gather in accordance with the Systems Engineering ISO 15288 process.

There will be a team of various experts available for support, with a designated official supervisor.

We prefer that this thesis work is carried out by two students, where a suitable division of work areas is determined in consultation based on educational orientation and interest. A thesis work conducted by a single student can also be discussed.

If you have your own idea for a thesis, we would be happy to discuss it and see if it could be suitable for our operations and identified future needs.

Timeline

Start date to be agreed upon, but preferably mid-January 2026 and implementation during the spring (corresponding to 30 credits). The thesis work will primarily be conducted at our headquarters in Solna, with some possibility to work remotely.
