Physiotherapist Substitute Wanted for Spring and Summer 2026
Our Offer
The Hematology Clinic is part of the Southeast Healthcare Region, located in the O-building at the University Hospital in Linköping, and provides highly specialized care in hematology (tumor and deficiency diseases within the blood-forming system such as anemia, leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma).
We actively work with quality assurance, are an accredited stem cell transplantation facility according to JAICE. We are also accredited in cancer care and are part of the Linköping Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC). We have both acute and planned admissions, with patients aged 18 and older, and the length of stay varies from a few days to several weeks. There is day care, outpatient services, a cell therapy unit, and a research and development unit at the clinic. We perform the latest treatments in cell therapy, known as CAR-T cell therapy (Chimeric Antigen Receptor).
As part of our commitment to providing patient-centered and resource-efficient care, we have intensified our efforts over the past year to develop and implement outpatient treatment methods. This means that as an employee, you will be part of an innovative team at the forefront of creating safe, secure, and patient-centered care.
At the clinic, you will collaborate in a team with doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, and other paramedical staff such as dietitians, social workers, and pharmacists. In the O-building, there are two other clinics we cooperate with, oncology and pulmonary medicine. For those who receive the substitute position, there are good opportunities to work independently in a team with colleagues at the clinic, as well as receive support and guidance from experienced physiotherapist colleagues in the other clinics.

Job Description
The work is at both individual and group levels within inpatient and outpatient care. The aim is to promote the patient's physical activity during both short and long hospital stays. In inpatient care, patients may require respiratory training, mobilization, and general exercise. Supporting nursing staff with ADL assessments for care planning and designing exercise programs is also part of the role. Compression treatment, assessment, fitting, and prescribing assistive devices are included as well. At the group level, there are planned exercise groups in the new rehabilitation arena in Tinnerbäckshuset where we offer group training for hematological patients. Training of the clinic's staff and suggesting ergonomic aids are also included.
About You
We are looking for a licensed physiotherapist, whether experienced or newly graduated, but most importantly, you should have an interest in learning about hematology. Introduction and guidance will be provided by the regular physiotherapist. The introduction period will be agreed upon, and time will be allocated for orientation and shadowing. There will be a regular physiotherapist on duty in the other clinics for guidance. Since you will be communicating with patients, relatives, and colleagues, it is important that you have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
As a person, you have good collaboration skills and enjoy working in a team with other professionals. You are independent and can take your own initiatives. You are a confident person and enjoy working with varied tasks. You are responsible, and we see that you have a positive and professional approach in your work with the patient in focus. For us, it is important that the right person is in the right place. We place great emphasis on personal suitability, and references regarding previous work performance are crucial for us.
Application and Employment
The position is a substitute for 75-100%, from April to September 2026, with introduction and shadowing in March. Working hours are weekdays during the day. If you have a diploma and license, please attach them with your application. Prior to employment in a patient-facing role within Region Östergötland, you will need to fill out a form (https://ledsys.lio.se/Document/Document?DocumentNumber=54500).
Warm welcome to submit your application! If you need help registering in the system, please contact customer service Support and Service at 010-103 60 00 during office hours.
To staffing, recruitment, and placement companies and to you as a seller: We kindly but firmly request no direct contact with staffing, recruitment, and placement companies, as well as other external actors and sellers of additional job advertisements. Region Östergötland has contracted agreements.
