We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist.

Experience in psychiatric and/or forensic psychiatric care and with individuals with cognitive disabilities is considered an asset. Education and familiarity with occupational therapy assessment tools and the Cosmic journal system are also regarded as advantageous. A driver's license is desirable.

The Forensic Psychiatric Regional Clinic in Vadstena (RPR) has a county-wide, regional, and national mission and is responsible for inpatient care of offenders with severe mental disorders and for involuntary care of mentally ill patients from the criminal justice system, detention centers, and psychiatric units. Many of our interventions are carried out in collaboration with other care and community actors such as courts, correctional services, police, and other regions. Our clinic has 90 inpatient care places and about 200 employees. Within the clinic, there are six care units, outpatient care, assessment and treatment unit, security and service unit, and administrative staff.

Job Description

As an occupational therapist, you will be part of a multiprofessional team around the patient, consisting of doctors, nurses, caregivers, psychologists, and social workers. You regularly participate in rounds and care planning where you contribute your knowledge from an occupational therapy perspective. You are one of two occupational therapists at the clinic.

Your main tasks will include assessing functional and activity abilities, identifying support needs, designing cognitive support, guiding staff both internally and externally, and prescribing assistive devices. Treatment occurs both individually and in groups. As an occupational therapist, you are also involved in creating opportunities for meaningful activities for patients and thus closely collaborate with instructors and lead patient groups in the clinic's activity program.

As an employee at the clinic, you have a responsibility to actively contribute to and participate in improvement and development work. Opportunities for professional development are available both within the profession and the clinic offers internal training.

We are looking for someone who easily collaborates with others and has a good view of humanity with a diversity perspective. You express a positive attitude towards your work and our operations. It is important for you to act in accordance with decisions made, our operational plan, goals, policies, and guidelines. You have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively and have good documentation skills. You possess pedagogical skills and can adapt the way you convey messages to the listener and are also a good listener yourself. We welcome you to contribute new ideas and have an engagement in the ongoing development and improvement work.

We work closely together and need to have good communication to successfully solve the tasks we encounter in our daily work. Therefore, this position suits you if you thrive in collaboration and are receptive and communicative with both colleagues and patients.
