For the past three years, Värnamo municipality has been working to develop early and coordinated efforts for children and young people in Värnamo.

As a continued step, the municipality has now decided to appoint a case officer position within the Department of Children and Education, tasked with driving and supporting the development work forward.

The focus will be on developing methods/processes for a clear implementation of TSI in schools within the Department of Children and Education.

The position places great importance on knowledge dissemination regarding the various departments' missions, both internally and externally to the municipality's residents. The goal is to create a deepened, natural, and favorable collaboration for school staff, focusing on early and coordinated efforts. Together with other staff from the departments, the position will also involve leading parent support groups and, if necessary, stepping into complex cases and facilitating collaboration meetings with the child at the center.

What are Early and Coordinated Efforts for Children and Young People in Värnamo Municipality?

Early and coordinated efforts for children and young people (TSI) aim to promote and prevent early detection and early interventions for children and young people. TSI is a collaboration between local services that meet children and families, such as preschools, schools, child and student health, social services, culture, leisure, healthcare, and police.

This means being present in environments where children and young people are, on their terms and conditions. It may involve visits to schools, parent meetings, associations, or other activities where children are present.

The position is based in the Department of Children and Education in Värnamo and will organizationally belong to the Cultural School unit, which currently works with all school units. A significant part of the time will be spent with other TSI case officers in the citizen administration.

Examples of job responsibilities:

• Be the point of contact for the Department of Children and Education regarding questions or advice and support related to TSI.
• Implement working methods and strategies for schools.
• Gather knowledge and monitor the environment regarding early and coordinated efforts.
• Disseminate knowledge on how we identify and work with children's risk and protective factors through early and coordinated efforts or reporting concerns to social services, for example, during parent meetings.
• Lead collaboration meetings where children/youth are the focus.
• Guide and support children and families based on their needs and situations.
• Develop information in the form of brochures and moving material/film for different target groups.

Qualifications

A teaching degree with teaching certification or education/experience that we consider equivalent. The focus is on pedagogically working with the implementation of TSI in schools and working with children, young people, and families. It is advantageous if you have experience in school social work or authority work focused on children and young people. You are a confident, responsible, and communicative person who easily establishes contact and collaborates with others. You have a good ability to structure and lead meetings, can handle complex issues, and are used to speaking in front of groups. A driver's license is required.

To succeed in the role, you should:

• Have a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Be flexible and able to prioritize in a varied everyday life.
• Have an understanding and interest in working in the organizational gaps that exist and arise when carrying out assignments in collaboration between departments.
• Have a willingness to develop and improve work processes, with sensitivity to different needs.
