About the position
We are looking for educators for Iris's assignment of Vocational Introduction for sign language users for our operations in Örebro. The target group for this is deaf and severely hearing-impaired individuals who are job seekers, considering further education, or starting their own business.
Your responsibilities
The target group for this assignment is deaf and severely hearing-impaired individuals who rely on sign language for communication and need tailored interventions to obtain work. As an educator, you will work with planning, documentation, and implementation of supportive measures to help participants achieve their goals. This includes study and career guidance, motivational measures such as individual coaching, teaching, and workshops. As an educator, you will also work with planning, procurement, and follow-up of work trial and internship placements. You will have a team of colleagues with extensive experience and great competence in tailored educational interventions to assist you.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with experience working with the target group of deaf and severely hearing-impaired individuals. Since the position is conducted in Swedish sign language, we seek someone who is fully proficient in Swedish sign language. A prerequisite is that you have experience planning and coordinating activating and motivating measures, documented experience guiding individuals towards studies and work, experience in procuring work trial and internship placements, and possess good digital skills. Knowledge of individuals within the target group is essential for you to work with us.
You have a knack for building relationships and maintaining connections as you are attentive and smooth in communication. At the same time, you can influence by creating engagement and motivating others. You are flexible and can adapt when conditions in work tasks change, while taking responsibility for your task and for achieving the participant's goals and Iris's goals. We emphasize personal suitability for the position. It is an advantage if you are multilingual.
Furthermore, we are looking for someone who meets one of the following profiles:
- At least one (1) year of experience in the last five years working full-time or part-time (at least 50% of full-time) guiding adults, or alternatively young adults aged 16-25, towards work and studies. At least one (1) year of experience in the last five years working full-time or part-time (at least 50% of full-time) with activating and motivating measures (see module 3) for the target group of deaf and severely hearing-impaired individuals who rely on sign language for communication.
- Ability to communicate fluently in sign language and have at least one (1) year of experience in the last five years working full-time or part-time (at least 50% of full-time) with the target group of deaf and severely hearing-impaired individuals who rely on sign language for communication. Additionally, have at least one (1) year of experience in the last five years working full-time or part-time (at least 50% of full-time) integrating individuals with disabilities into the workforce and providing conditions for job seekers to find, obtain, and retain employment.
