Welcome to apply for the position of teacher in the practical courses of the Vehicle and Transport Program at Finnvedens Gymnasium in Värnamo.

Finnvedens Gymnasium is a municipal high school with approximately 1200 students and 12 national programs. The school is organized into program working teams where each team collaborates for the benefit of the students in the program.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include teaching the practical courses/subjects in the Vehicle and Transport Program, where part of the teaching is theoretical. You will teach the fundamental subjects included in the first year of the Vehicle and Transport Program and in the passenger car orientation.

Other major responsibilities include obtaining and following up on APL placements, having certain institutional responsibilities, supervising graduation projects, and participating in program teams. Mentoring a group of students is part of the position, which means you will follow up on students' well-being, attendance, and academic results in close collaboration with other staff.

The role also includes documenting and assessing students' development in accordance with the school's routines and governing documents. You will use digital tools as a natural part of teaching and daily work.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for someone who is a certified vocational teacher in the vehicle subjects of upper secondary school. Regardless of whether you are a certified vocational teacher or not, we want you to have good industry knowledge in theory and practice, and we are looking for someone with experience working as a passenger car mechanic, heavy mechanic, or machine mechanic.

You have solid professional experience in the automotive industry and a good understanding of how students learn – both theoretically and practically.

To work with us, you need to be solution-focused, have strong collaboration skills, and adaptability. It is crucial that you can translate your good subject and professional knowledge into individual students' learning, as well as have the ability to adapt and create individual solutions for our students who have different conditions for acquiring knowledge. Furthermore, you should be positive and see opportunities instead of obstacles, as the work places high demands on your ability to create a trusting relationship with the students. To thrive and function well in the organization, you should be able to collaborate closely with your colleagues. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Depending on the needs of the organization and your competencies, teaching in other programs and orientations may be relevant.

A driving license (B) is required.

Conditions

We work with ongoing selection and interviews. The position will be filled provided that the necessary decisions are made. Start date by agreement.
