Social Worker for Investigation Group with Opportunity for Good Recovery – Experience Meaningful Work in Less Than 5 Days a Week!

Since January 2024, we at Värmdö Municipality have implemented a project where we schedule working hours so that you as a social worker work every 7th Friday during the period 2024-2026. You are off on the other Fridays.

The unit consists of social workers divided into groups for investigation and intervention, family care, and family law, led by four group leaders and one unit manager. We are now looking for three committed and experienced social workers for the investigation and intervention group for ages 0-18.

As a social worker with us, you will meet children, young people, and their families. Your main task is to investigate the child's situation, make assessments according to SoL and LVU, and conduct follow-ups to provide children and young people with a safe and stable environment. The work also involves writing statements to various authorities and collaborating with external partners and other social services. You will work according to BBIC and document in the operational system Combine. Furthermore, you will contribute to utilizing the family's own resources and solutions, as we work extensively on network inventory.

We work with the Signs of Safety approach, in teams of two, with close support from group leaders and strong cohesion within the group.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in social work
  • At least 2 years of experience in public authority work with children and youth

Preferred qualifications:

  • Documented experience in public authority work within social services, case management, and investigation of cases
  • Experience working with Children's Needs in Focus (BBIC)
  • Experience in Motivational Interviewing (MI)
  • Documented experience in conversations with children and young people
  • Experience working according to Signs of Safety
  • Training and good experience working with SIP

The role of a social worker can sometimes be challenging and complex. Therefore, we need someone who is secure and stable. Furthermore, you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances. The work also requires you to switch between different tasks and have the ability to find quick and legally secure solutions. You can remain calm in stressful and pressured situations. You prefer to work in a team with shared responsibility while also taking significant responsibility for driving the work forward independently. Additionally, you have the ability to organize and prioritize work effectively. You are attentive in your interactions with others and have a natural ability to empathize with others' perspectives and situations without losing your professional integrity. The work requires good communication skills, which means you can express yourself clearly and structured in both speech and writing. Of course, you are also engaged and want to actively participate in developing the work for the benefit of those we serve.

In Värmdö Municipality, we offer a range of benefits in addition to scheduling for free Fridays, such as bright and nice premises, free staff parking, and close leadership. We also offer a generous wellness allowance, SL card against net salary deduction, and vacation exchange for extra days off. You can easily commute to us in 30 minutes by direct bus from Slussen, which runs every 10 minutes. If you choose to drive, the same distance takes about 20 minutes. We also actively work to create health-promoting workplaces with a good working environment and apply smoke-free working hours. We value the qualities that diversity brings to the organization and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds, life experiences, and gender identities for the position.

The employment is a permanent position and is full-time. Start date according to agreement. Recruitment will take place continuously during the recruitment period. References will be required from your current manager and a reference who can describe you in your work as a social worker.
