Housing Support Workers for Bromma District Administration
Stockholm – our capital city with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. We are now looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Bromma District Administration offers you a workplace where your efforts can truly make a difference and contribute to the community benefit in a growing district. Here, active employee participation and clear leadership are the foundation for a developing operation.
Welcome to us
The Department of Social Services and Leisure in Bromma District Administration is divided into four different areas and one unit.
We are now looking for two housing support workers for the Unit for Housing and Support Interventions 2, which is part of the Adult Area. The unit consists of Housing Support and Trial and Training Apartments and is led by a unit manager and a team leader.
Two of our colleagues in the housing support group will be working on a project during 2026, and we are therefore looking for new stars to join our team. The workgroup is very experienced and knowledgeable in social psychiatry and housing support and consists of a team leader and 11 housing support workers. We cover the entire Bromma district and operate from the administration's office in Bromma Blocks. The target group is adults aged 18-64 with mental disabilities who have assistance decisions according to the Social Services Act regarding the housing support intervention.
We offer
We offer you a fun and stimulating job together with engaged and knowledgeable colleagues.
We provide an SL card as a benefit, the possibility of vacation exchange, and wellness grants.
Your role
As a housing support worker with us, you will have assignments with users throughout Bromma, which is why you will be working in the field for most of your workday. You will have a number of users for whom you are a support person, often together with a colleague. Based on the order, you will make an individual plan for and together with each user. This includes both practical tasks inside and outside the home as well as providing support and assistance in structuring everyday life. You will also, if necessary, have contacts with relevant people in the user's surroundings. You are also responsible for ongoing documentation and implementation plans and ensuring that these maintain high quality. You will have close cooperation with the ordering caseworkers. The working hours are currently scheduled Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:45, but evening work may occur.
Your skills and experience
It is required that you have completed education relevant to the position, such as nursing assistant with a focus on psychiatry, mental health worker, social educator, treatment assistant, or other education that the employer finds equivalent. You must also have at least 1 year of experience working with the target group.
It is meritorious if you have education and experience in:
- Independent Living (ESL)
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Low-Arousal Approach (LAB)
Experience of working with housing support in individual homes.
The role of a housing support worker places high demands on structure, communication, and flexibility, which is why we are looking for someone who:
- Enjoys taking responsibility for planning and structuring their workdays.
- Is used to working alone and can independently make decisions within the framework of your assignment when required.
- Sees it as a given to be communicative as an employee towards both colleagues, clients, and other partners.
- Likes to be active as we, in addition to public transport, also walk or bike to our users. Walks with users also occur.
- Has knowledge and experience of working with people with various mental disabilities.
- Is experienced in documentation.
- Has very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
In this recruitment, your personal qualities will be important.
The positions will be filled subject to the necessary decisions being made. The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
To work with the City of Stockholm with children, youth, the elderly, and people with disabilities, including work in their homes, you must provide an extract from the criminal record. The extract must not be older than six months from the date of issue.
