About the Company GKN Aerospace Sweden is part of GKN Aerospace, which manufactures engine components, aircraft structures, cabin windows, wiring, and much more for many of the world's aircraft. The companies in the Aerospace division that work with parts for aircraft engines collectively form Engines, and at our facility in Trollhättan, we develop and manufacture advanced parts for engines for aircraft and rockets. We also work with engine maintenance.

We have production facilities in Trollhättan, Kongsberg (Norway), Mexico, and the USA. We also have an engineering office in Bangalore, India, and offices in Stockholm (Public Affairs) and Gothenburg. The headquarters for Engines is located in Trollhättan.

Your Responsibilities

The Rig Support department currently consists of nine engineers who together drive and coordinate the work with preventive and corrective maintenance, improvements, and development of our facility for apparatus and engine testing. The majority of testing currently takes place on engine RM12 for Gripen C/D, both for maintenance and development engines. At the same time, we are working on the introduction of engine RM16 for Gripen E, where testing resources are being built up gradually over the coming years. Looking ahead, several major infrastructure projects await – everything from new construction replacing older installations to renovations and modifications of existing facilities.

As part of our team, you will have a varied job where no day is the same. One moment you might be out in the facility following up on an installation, the next moment you are in the office planning upcoming projects within apparatus and engine testing. Your responsibilities also include:

• New construction, design, preventive and corrective maintenance on our measurement systems
• Ensuring that assignments adhere to budget, timelines, and quality requirements
• Documentation according to standards and with high quality
• Active participation in business development of processes and routines
• Responsibility for quality, environment, and working environment in the projects

Requirements for the Position:

• An academic degree in electronics/electrical measurement systems and measurement methods is desirable or alternatively equivalent knowledge gained through experience
• Experience working with measurement data systems and IT systems is an advantage
• Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Experience in CAD design of electrical systems is an advantage
• Experience with PLC systems is an advantage

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the applicable security protection regulations. For positions where GKN's customer has requirements for security classification, this may, in certain cases, require specific citizenship.
