Laboratory Medicine is Hiring Laboratory Assistant in Clinical Microbiology

Laboratory Medicine within Region Jämtland Härjedalen is an advanced diagnostic organization with extensive expertise. Laboratory Medicine is an accredited operation with a large and varied diagnostic panorama. Many different professional groups work and collaborate here; biomedical analysts, laboratory engineers, nurses, nursing assistants, laboratory assistants, specialist doctors, chemists, microbiologists, IT specialists, and medical secretaries.

We provide patients and referrers with a high degree of service.

Clinical Microbiology includes both culture-based and molecular diagnostics. The unit also has its own substrate manufacturing. There are great opportunities for development and for actively participating in the rapidly growing development of the organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The work is scheduled for weekdays during the day, but evening shifts may become relevant in the future. Your tasks will include the production of agar plates for the laboratory's culture methodology.

Other tasks include pre-analysis and participation in the start of the workflow, which involves unpacking, sorting, registering, and culturing samples. This also includes analytical work such as sample setting and result reporting. Your work is an important part of ensuring that patients receive the correct diagnosis and treatment.

Other tasks may arise based on the needs of the organization, such as species identification of bacteria and/or sample collection.

These tasks place high demands on accuracy and a structured approach, as well as the execution of certain documentation. You take responsibility for your tasks and can be adaptable to changes if the need for other tasks arises. Simple troubleshooting occurs, as well as contacts with clients and other parts of the healthcare chain.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who can work as a laboratory assistant in Clinical Microbiology. We believe that you have a strong commitment, high collaborative ability, and a flexible approach. The work is partly technical and requires accuracy as well as the ability to work both independently and in a team. We see that you have the ability to see the big picture and an ambition to create working methods that promote internal and external collaboration.

Meritorious

• Very good language skills in Swedish.
• Experience from other laboratory work.

You are quality-conscious, meticulous, and structured. You have good collaborative skills but can also work independently and adapt to changing conditions.
