Neurology Clinic

The Neurology Clinic is a specialist clinic for the investigation, care, and treatment of patients with confirmed or suspected neurological diseases. The unit consists of a comprehensive outpatient service with responsibility for acute neurological conditions and has access to inpatient care on the neuro and stroke ward when needed. Our clinic has a close collaboration with the Regional Hospital in Umeå, including joint telemedicine rounds. Neurology has undergone enormous development in recent years, and we are part of it. For us, development and improvements are part of everyday life.

Our operation, consisting of about 20 employees, is conducted in multiprofessional teams made up of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, medical secretaries, and administrative assistants. For patients needing additional interventions, we collaborate with Östersund's rehabilitation center at Remonthagen and other services, such as Psychiatry and Storsjögläntan.

For patients with ALS and Huntington's disease, we have a team that includes a speech therapist, social worker, and dietitian in addition to our own specialties. We are responsible for patients with brain tumors and work in teams around these patients. We also have a close collaboration with the oncologist in Umeå.

The area of cardiovascular diseases, stroke, neurology, rehabilitation, and rheumatology (HNR) includes both acute and planned activities, and the included units comprise 3 wards and 5 clinics.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Currently, five nurses work at the neurology clinic with roles as contact nurses for patient groups including epilepsy, MS, Parkinson's disease, motor neuron diseases, and brain tumors. We are now looking for a nurse who can take on the role of contact nurse for other patients, both those undergoing investigation and those with more unusual neurological diagnoses. This position is a developmental role where you will have the opportunity to shape content and working methods together with the team.

The position also includes work in day care, where we perform infusion treatments and administer chemotherapy. You will also work with telephone advice, sample collection, and other clinic tasks in close collaboration with our other nurses and other professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed nurse who enjoys working in a team and wants to help develop our operations. Experience in neurology and/or familiarity with the Cosmic journal system is an advantage.
