The surgical department encompasses all surgical activities from wards, operations, to outpatient clinics and emergency services at Centralsjukhuset Kristianstad (CSK). We operate a well-functioning service in the areas of breast cancer and malignant melanoma. Additionally, we have teams in vascular, colorectal, upper gastrointestinal/endocrine, and emergency surgery.

For many years, we have established a well-defined process regarding standardized care pathways in cancer care (SVF) and multidisciplinary conferences (MDK).

Our catchment area includes northeastern and central Skåne with a population base of approximately 250,000. Collaboration regarding patient care occurs throughout the entire southern healthcare region with Skåne University Hospital as the university clinic.

Centralsjukhuset Kristianstad is the emergency hospital for northeastern Skåne. Emergency care is provided around the clock by qualified and dedicated staff. CSK has the resources of a large hospital and the closeness and community of a smaller hospital. We are approximately 2,600 employees.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are now seeking a specialist colleague for our section of breast and melanoma surgery. Soon, our team will consist of five specialists, four of whom are senior consultants. One of our senior consultants has dual specialization in general and plastic surgery, allowing us to manage all reconstructive breast surgery, except for microsurgery. For microsurgical procedures, we refer to the Plastic Surgery Clinic at SUS Malmö.

Together with your colleagues, you will conduct outpatient, consultative, and operative activities in both diagnostic groups of breast cancer and malignant melanoma. There is an opportunity for on-call duties in general surgery if interested.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the position, you must be a licensed physician authorized to practice within Swedish healthcare, and you must have specialist competence in surgery along with experience in the field. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are also required. Approved European accreditation in breast surgery is advantageous but not mandatory.
