As a nursing assistant in home care, you work closely with people and provide support in each person's daily life. You perform care and support work in individuals' own homes. As a nursing assistant, you motivate and stimulate the elderly based on their individual conditions, needs, and wishes.

The services are granted based on assistance and can vary from personal care, support during meals, assistance in social activities, and some health and medical tasks. You will be part of many people's life situations, which can be both interesting and challenging. As a nursing assistant in home care, you work independently but also together with others in the shared care and support work.

We work according to the Social Services Act and the national value base with a focus on the individual's needs at the center. The work involves providing social care and support based on a health-promoting approach, which includes utilizing the individual's resources and focusing on the strengths of each care recipient.

Your job responsibilities include being a primary care contact, planning, implementing, documenting, and following up on the care work with the person in need of support and assistance. It also includes performing health and medical care and rehabilitative interventions as prescribed by a nurse, physiotherapist, and occupational therapist. All social documentation is done digitally. If you have not previously used the systems used within the City of Gothenburg, you will receive training in these.

Qualifications

Requirements: We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant, can show the National Board of Health and Welfare's certificate of protected professional title, or can demonstrate that you were employed as a nursing assistant when the new regulations were introduced.

Meritorious:

• You can cycle and are willing to use a bicycle for work
• Driver's license B
• Experience in care and support work

Personal Competencies:

As a nursing assistant in home care, you adapt your communication according to the recipient, target group, and situation, ensuring that your message is conveyed. You have a good approach and are helpful to others, showing respect for everyone you meet at work. You work to ensure that the care recipient gets what they need.

In difficult and pressured situations, you remain calm and secure. You can balance the demands placed on you and can make well-founded decisions despite time pressure. As a nursing assistant in home care, you work independently and have the ability to make your own decisions in daily work without relying on others. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You base your actions on everyone's equal value and create a good atmosphere in the meeting. You have an open and positive attitude, with the care recipient's needs as the starting point for your actions.
