TÜV NORD Scandinavia is steadily growing with new customer assignments, and we therefore need to strengthen our growing nuclear power team in Gothenburg and Helsingborg with two additional colleagues. We are looking for someone who is currently an experienced calculation engineer in solid mechanics with a focus on FEM analysis for our nuclear power calculation group.
TÜV NORD Scandinavia is accredited by Swedac as a control and certification body within relevant operational areas, focused on tanks/pressure vessels and pipes, materials, and welding. We are also a notified body within the EU for PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) and perform inspection and certification assignments with material suppliers based on our own and German accreditation.
Role Description
As a calculation engineer with us, you will work on review assignments primarily within the nuclear power industry. The scope of the analyses varies, with some being complex, dynamic, and nonlinear FEM analyses, while others may involve formula-based calculations according to standards.
This is a position for you who want to develop and see the opportunity to drive your own projects with a lot of customer contact and want to influence your own work situation. The position may involve a few trips per year within western and central Sweden where the Swedish nuclear power industry is located.
The place of employment will be at our office in Gothenburg or alternatively in Helsingborg. In Gothenburg, we currently have two experienced employees working with nuclear power. At our office in Helsingborg, we have four experienced calculation engineers in nuclear power. All employees in our nuclear power calculation group are civil engineers. In total, we currently have 15 employees within TÜV NORD Scandinavia working with nuclear power.

Your Background
We are looking for someone who is passionate about strength analyses and complex calculations. You have a master's degree in mechanical engineering, engineering physics, or civil engineering with a focus on calculation engineering in structural mechanics, solid mechanics, or fracture mechanics.
You are structured in your work approach, have a sense of planning, are quality-conscious, and have the ability to see and analyze details. You master a FEM program (ANSYS, ADINA, or similar) and have previously worked with standards such as ASME III, Eurocode 3, EN 13445 / 13480.
Our Other Requirements
- You must have Swedish citizenship or dual citizenship from another EU country.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience as a calculation engineer in FEM analysis or similar.
- Fluent in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
- Driving license B.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in pipe code calculations and previous assignments within the nuclear power industry.
- Experience in fracture mechanical analyses.
- Proficiency in FEM (ANSYS, ADINA, or similar).
- Proficiency in Pipe Evaluation (Pipestress, CAEPIPE, rohr2, or similar).
- Standard evaluation according to EN 13445 / 13480, ASME III, Eurocode 3.
- Experience in technical project management is desirable.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities and your profile for this position. Since this role is within a security-sensitive operation, a security clearance and background check of the final candidate is required according to the Security Protection Act. The security clearance is performed by us in the recruitment process and is ultimately accepted by our customers, while the background check is conducted by the Security Police (Säpo).
