Summer Temporary Position as Treatment Assistant at SiS

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS youth home Ljungaskog receives non-compulsory school-age girls with psychosocial issues, substance abuse, and self-harming problems. The institution is tasked with providing care for girls with special care needs.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer temporary position as a treatment assistant at SiS.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to adopt new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines on the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth and clients, providing the foundation for daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You contribute to maintaining security at the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth and clients receive the safety and security they need to break ingrained behaviors. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and weekends.

As a summer temporary employee at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

Qualifications

You should have:

• Completed upper secondary education
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., from psychiatry, group homes, or from care and support.
• Driver's license (B)
• Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing

Equally important is having a solid positive view of people, great empathy, and the ability to build good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are willing to share your knowledge with colleagues.

The position is a fixed-term employment during the summer period, with the possibility of continued hourly employment.
