About the Role

We are looking for an experienced senior designer with expertise in plastic design to participate in the development of a new and innovative hygiene chair. This product is intended to facilitate personal hygiene for the elderly, with applications such as showering and toilet visits. You will work with complex and larger components, such as injection-molded plastic parts and cast aluminum components. Together with the AFRY team, you will help create sustainable and innovative solutions that make a difference for people.

Requirements

As a senior designer, you will have primary responsibility for the detailed design of plastic components, with a particular focus on injection molding. You will work closely with external suppliers and internal functions to ensure high quality, cost-effectiveness, and robustness in production.

To succeed in this role, you have extensive experience with CAD and surface modeling in SolidWorks. You have proven experience in creating detailed drawings and tolerance specifications for plastic components, with a particular focus on larger components and design requirements for surface finish. You have in-depth knowledge of injection molding and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and have the ability to analyze and simulate the behavior of plastic components under various loads and environmental conditions. You also have experience working with products that have a clear end-user and a good understanding of user requirements and experience.

You have a practical approach and see the value in prototype building and an iterative working method to develop successful solutions. Your ability to collaborate with various competencies and drive projects toward common goals is crucial for success in this role.
