About the position:

Do you want to help shape the future of sustainable grocery retail? As an Android Developer at Coop Sweden, you will have the opportunity to drive innovation and contribute to our important work for a more sustainable future. We are looking for a Senior Android Developer who wants to be part of the DigIT Payments department at Coop Sweden.

As a Senior Android Developer, you will work on:

• Taking responsibility for the development of two central apps, Scan & Pay (B2C) and Invoice Service (B2B), important self-payment solutions used in both staffed and unstaffed stores.
• Further develop and improve existing features to create an even better customer experience and increase the number of active users.
• Work in a small team with a high level of ownership, where you are responsible for the entire chain from development to testing and release.
• Participate in sprint planning, demos, and retros according to Scrum and collaborate closely with product owners, backend developers, and UX specialists from other parts of Coop.
• Ensure high quality in your own code as the team does not have a dedicated tester.
• Contribute to shaping the future digital store offerings of one of Sweden's largest grocery retailers.

You will be part of a smaller team where the product owner is responsible for prioritizing the work, while you have many points of contact in the rest of the organization. In your daily work, you will collaborate closely with other development teams at Coop. We work according to Scrum and would like you to have experience with agile methodologies.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with several years of experience in Android development, who has a strong sense of quality and user experience, and can provide clear time and cost estimates. You are self-driven but also a humble team player who enjoys collaborating with others. As a person, you are analytical and problem-solving with a curiosity for new technologies and methodologies. You have a strong interest in creating simple, accessible, and user-friendly solutions always with the consumer in focus. You have a loyalty and sense of responsibility that makes you take ownership of your work.

To be successful in this role, we hope you have:

• Several years of experience in Android development, with very good knowledge of Kotlin and/or Java.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose and XML-based UI development, as well as familiarity with integrating external SDKs.
• Good understanding of REST APIs and JSON, as well as experience with Android's design principles and coding standards.
• Familiarity with Android Studio and debugging tools.
• Experience with RxJava.
• Experience with Firebase/Firestore & Firebase Cloud Functions.
• Experience with Google Pay.
• Familiarity with working in agile teams according to Scrum (experience with SAFe is a plus).
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing, and comfortable speaking English.

Meritorious:

• Experience with design systems, accessibility, and testing frameworks.
• Background in retail, grocery trade, e-commerce, or payments.
• Experience working with unit testing.
• Knowledge of regulations and directives such as PCI DSS, GDPR, or the Accessibility Directive.
• Interest in user experience and accessibility, as well as a desire to stay updated on new technologies, tools, and methods.
