About the school

Praktiska Gymnasiet in Ystad offers students a concept where theory is combined with practical exercises both inside the school and out in workplaces. At Praktiska, we set high standards for ourselves to create the best conditions for an educational and enjoyable training. Our teaching is characterized by flexibility, proximity, and practical learning. Our program offerings include: Construction and Civil Engineering Program, Electrical and Energy Program, Sales and Service Program, Craft Program (hairdresser, barber, and hair and makeup stylist), HVAC and Property Program, and Health and Care Program. Currently, the school has about 300 students and just under forty employees.

Your mission

We offer a permanent position with a scope of 80%. The mission of student health is to support students' development towards the goals of education, primarily through health-promoting and preventive work. As a school nurse, you contribute nursing competence and medical expertise as support in the work with students' learning. The school nurse's preventive and health-promoting mission includes, among other things, offering health visits, health checks, and vaccinations. Guidelines and methodological support are available in the methodology book for the medical interventions of student health in high school.

In the role of school nurse with us, you will be part of the school's student health team and have close collaboration with school management, EHT, mentors, educators, guardians, and authorities outside the school. The mission also involves participating in the school's development work and in the joint development and quality assurance work within medical student health.

The work requires that you are confident in your professional role, can work independently, are proactive, and have a good ability to see opportunities in different situations. As support in your work, you will be part of AcadeMedia's network for school nurses led by the medical operations manager.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is a licensed nurse with specialist training as a pediatric nurse, district nurse, or school nurse. You are interested in working with preventive health work and operating in a modern school nurse role.

To thrive in the role of school nurse with us, we would like you to have high ambitions, be proactive, organized, and empathetic and attentive. Above all, you are passionate about building relationships with our students and see their development and learning as an important starting point in your work.

If you have previously worked as a school nurse or have experience in health-promoting work with children and youth, we see that as very positive. Experience with the digital journal system ProReNata is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
