JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for someone who is passionate about creating good conditions for children to learn and develop together with colleagues. You should have a good understanding of what it means to work inspired by Reggio Emilia, as well as solid knowledge of language development work and leading colleagues.

In the role of lead teacher, you will work independently and lead development work in close collaboration with the principal and deputy principal. In your role, you will:

  • Guide your colleagues in working with the children's group and in working inspired by Reggio Emilia
  • Lead the work of creating sustainable structures for education and teaching for all children inspired by Reggio Emilia's pedagogical philosophy.
  • Lead the work of making education and teaching accessible to all children together with colleagues.
  • Guide your colleagues in working towards our prioritized goals in our language development work and document continuously.
  • Participate in the development of the SKA work and in anchoring the work in scientific foundations and proven experience.
  • Plan and prepare learning environments together with colleagues.
  • Continuously follow up and further develop the assignment together with the principal and deputy principal.

As a lead teacher, you are a skilled educator and didactician with a clear vision of how you want to develop preschool to achieve our goals:

  1. A preschool with high goal fulfillment
  2. A preschool that works inclusively
  3. A preschool based on scientific foundations and proven experience
  4. A preschool that operates according to preschool governing documents, sustainability goals, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

You will receive a permanent position as a preschool teacher and a fixed-term position as a lead teacher for two years with possible extension. This means that you will transition to your permanent position as a preschool teacher after the lead teacher period ends.

QUALIFICATIONS

Being a lead teacher means being a role model and inspirer, both in working with children, meeting with colleagues and guardians, and in your targeted development assignment.

To be considered for the lead teacher position, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • You should have a qualifying degree and preschool teacher certification.
  • You should have at least four years of documented and well-rated work with teaching within the framework of one or more positions as a preschool teacher.
  • You should have a good ability to contribute to improving the organization's results, a strong interest in developing teaching, and good knowledge of systematic quality work.
  • You should have a good ability to lead colleagues and solid knowledge of working based on Reggio Emilia's pedagogical philosophy.
  • You should have good competence in driving and implementing language development work.

As a person, you are secure in your role and have very good professional skills. You have solid professional knowledge and a good ability to apply it in practice. You adapt working methods and approaches so that both the individual child's and the group's needs are met. You have clear leadership for learning. You see all children's needs and encourage curiosity and the desire to learn more.

In the role of lead teacher, you create challenging learning environments together with your colleagues that are adapted to the children's needs for a conducive, safe, and stimulating learning environment.

In your application, you should include your name, personal identification number, number of years you have worked as a preschool teacher, certification, and a brief CV. Also, include any internal and/or external training you have participated in. In your application, you should also provide examples from your professional practice based on points 1 and 2 below.

Your text should include:

  1. Examples of how you work to improve the organization's results.
  2. Examples of how you develop learning for children in the organization.
  3. Which development areas (13) you have identified in your unit and how you would approach them.
  4. What your strengths and challenges are in relation to the requirements.
