Welcome to us

Hedvig Eleonora preschools consist of seven preschools located in Östermalm, around the Historical Museum and on Gärdet just north of Valhallavägen.

Within the unit, there are about 430 children placed and 100 employees. Our preschools are located close to each other, and there is a lot of collaboration between the different addresses. Within the preschool organization, we have experience exchange and development work. The central location of our preschools also means that it is easy to take part in the city's cultural offerings and visit the city's parks. We provide educational meals, work clothes for outdoor use, and the opportunity for wellness benefits.

Your role

As a preschool assistant, you contribute to the daily functioning of the preschool and ensure that care and daily educational work are based on children's participation and choices. Together with other colleagues at the preschool, you help create a positive, meaningful, and developing environment for each child and the entire group. You are active in your relationships with the children and in their play.

You participate in the educational development work and the pedagogical documentation according to the preschool's curriculum and operational goals. You are engaged and actively participate in planning and evaluating the work. You also contribute during parent meetings and in daily contacts with guardians, being engaged, child-focused, and service-oriented. The work involves some daily documentation.

Your experience and qualifications

• Preschool assistant education
• At least 5 years of experience working in preschool

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working with children in need of special support
• Other experience in leadership and/or educational work
• Experience in documenting and observing children in their activities and learning
• Experience working with TAKK
• Knowledge of the national minority languages Finnish, Meänkieli, and Sámi

We are looking for someone who is engaged and flexible. You act professionally and have the ability to distinguish between the personal and the professional. You have good collaboration skills and demonstrate this by relating and communicating with others in a responsive and smooth manner, and you can also handle conflicts constructively. This work requires you to have good communication skills in dialogue with both guardians and colleagues. We are looking for someone who works in a structured manner and can independently drive tasks forward. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Other

Interviews and selection are ongoing. The position is temporary and lasts around 6 months, starting as agreed. To work in preschool, you need to provide a valid extract from the police criminal record for working with children. The City of Stockholm works with competence-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thereby counteracting discrimination.
