At the Swedish Work Environment Authority, we work together to ensure that no one becomes ill, injured, or dies due to work. Therefore, we assist employers in meeting existing requirements and inform them on how to make work environment efforts a natural part of everyday life. Based on the Work Environment Act, we develop regulations, inspect workplaces, and disseminate knowledge about work environment issues. The mission is serious, but our everyday life is characterized by joy at work, and we are caring and helpful colleagues.
Your new job
As an IT Archivist, you will work in the Unit for Information Management – a unit that handles all parts of the information management process. An important part of our mission is to ensure that our digital information is preserved now and for the future. We have recently acquired an E-archive, and in your role, working with deliveries to it will be one of your main tasks. Our work is in the startup phase, and therefore, your role includes further developing methods and processes for the E-archive together with your colleague, who is the system administrator for the E-archive.
Your tasks will involve working with metadata schemas and other technical data. You will be part of a new team, which means you have the opportunity to help develop the authority's work with digital preservation. Your work will be in close collaboration with colleagues in the unit and IT. The work also includes conducting preservation and disposal investigations and preparing and delivering ongoing contributions to the E-archive.
Your background
The role requires that you have:
- a university degree with at least 60 credits in archival science or a related field deemed relevant by the employer
- experience in working with digital deliveries to an E-archive or equivalent system
- experience in preservation and disposal investigations of digital information
- excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
- good written skills in English.
It is an advantage if you also have:
- experience in participating in development projects related to digital preservation
- experience in requirement specification for E-archive deliveries, e.g., when procuring consulting support or requesting IT resources
- experience in working with metadata schemas.
As a person, we see that you will thrive and succeed in the role if you have the ability to plan and structure your work well. You have good analytical skills and can find solutions to problems. Furthermore, you easily adapt to new circumstances and remain positive even when the pace is high. You are skilled at creating collaborations with people at different levels in the organization and contributing to a good collaborative climate. In the selection process, we will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
Employment with us may mean that the position is placed in a security class. Security clearance with or without a background check may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required. Security clearance is conducted according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585).
What we offer you
The Swedish Work Environment Authority is a secure employer and an authority that is constantly changing with the society we operate in. We are proud to use our knowledge and trust in our important societal mission. Together, we create an inclusive culture that encompasses heart, courage, and brain. With us, you become an important part of something bigger.
The employment is a permanent position, full-time, and is currently located at our office in Solna. We apply individual salary setting and a six-month probationary period.
We strive for all employees to have a sustainable work environment and a balance between work and leisure. Therefore, we have flexible working hours or apply trust-based working hours and offer the possibility of remote work where the operations allow.

How we recruit
We use competence-based recruitment, both to ensure the quality of the recruitment and to counteract discrimination. We therefore ask you to only attach a CV and answer a few questions instead of a cover letter when you register your application. Since we work competence-based, we also use psychological tests in this recruitment. Interviews will take place from week 7.
We believe it is important for you to also assess us. Therefore, we welcome questions both before and during the recruitment process. Union contacts are Adam Jansson for Saco, Marita Jonsson for ST, and Jenny Bengtsson for Seko. All can be reached through the Swedish Work Environment Authority's switchboard: 010-730 90 00.
Do you want to work with us to ensure that no one becomes ill, injured, or dies due to work?
Welcome with your application by February 2, 2025!
The recruitment is handled by the Swedish Work Environment Authority's recruitment function, and we therefore decline sales calls from recruitment companies or ad sellers.
