The Culture and Leisure Office is responsible for ensuring a rich cultural and sports life and a diverse leisure offering in Södertälje municipality. The office is responsible for libraries, cultural schools, art halls, Youth Leisure, sports facilities, and outdoor activities.
The libraries in Södertälje consist of the City Library with the target group library TIO14, a local library in Hovsjö, and the municipal libraries in Enhörna, Järna, Hölö, and Mölnbo, as well as a book bus. We consist of two units: the City Library and the Local Libraries including the book bus.

The libraries are a place for literature and culture and an open meeting place for all citizens. Promoting reading with a focus on children and young people is of great importance to us.

Your tasks

You will work at Hovsjö Library together with a librarian and a cultural educator.

Your tasks include, among other things:   
- working to promote reading.
- monitoring the environment and collaborating with other actors.
- subject monitoring, media planning, purchasing.
- staffing and other usual tasks as a librarian.

Requirements:
- We are looking for someone with a degree in library and information science or another relevant higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Meritorious:
- You have several years of experience working in public libraries.
- A genuine interest in promoting reading and meeting people.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English; additional languages are meritorious.
- Experience working with diversity perspectives.

The position is a full-time temporary position while the regular employee is studying. Evening and weekend work may occur.
