I am a very nice and positive young man, 37 years old, with autism and an intellectual disability. I live independently. My interests include going on daily trips with my car, taking walks, swimming, playing keyboard, watching YouTube, and listening to Spotify - rap and hip hop music.

I feel good when you are fundamentally secure, clear, calm, and happy. I need help with communication with other people. Routines, structure, and visual support are also important to me.

The job as a personal assistant with me primarily means that you and I enjoy each other's company and can create a good relationship. It is, of course, an advantage if you have knowledge and experiences that can be useful when we spend time together. I see in my assistants that curiosity to learn more and constantly develop in the work has also led to me having an even better life, which I value greatly.

My assistants work with a low-arousal approach both towards me and within the team. This is a prerequisite for me to feel comfortable and well. Likewise, there is a working method that means we create joy and well-being together every day, which I really appreciate. In addition, my assistants continuously educate themselves and find working methods that enrich my life. Recently, we learned to work with a conversation mat, where I can easily express my opinions. I enjoy that we can learn new things together.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the client in communication
• Participate in activities within the home, e.g., inspire conversations, IT/YouTube, music
• Participate in activities outside the home, e.g., daily walks and outings
• Support the client in daily activities
• Assist the client with cooking/baking
• Keep the home environment clean and pleasant, care for the client's belongings, and handle outdoor tasks such as snow shoveling and lawn mowing
• Prevent and manage frustrations and problem-creating situations
• Create a daily meaningful and positive experience for the client
• Encourage and provide opportunities for the client's daily participation, involvement, and independence

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION

• Basic computer skills
• Driver's license B (manual driving) and own car, as there is limited access to public transport
• The client has their own car used in the work
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• A merit if you have knowledge/experience of working with people with autism
• Since the client's workplace has officially worked with a low-arousal approach since 21 06 01, it is part of the employment to participate in this development work and other working methods used with the client.
• Present a police clearance certificate. It is an advantage if you order the certificate before a job interview.

WORKING HOURS

Assistance is provided around the clock (09.00-09.00) with waiting time during the night. You need to be able to work independently at all hours of the day - including weekends and holidays. The assistance consists only of day shifts. Double assistance does not occur. Approximately 4-6 day shifts/month. We place great importance on your flexibility and willingness to work extra shifts when needed.
