The Child, Youth, and Family Unit is one of IFO's nine units, and we are now looking for an MST therapist.

MST (Multisystemic Therapy) is an evidence-based structured outpatient intervention within social services. The intervention targets families with children and adolescents exhibiting externalizing behaviors such as criminality, substance abuse, aggression, and/or serious school problems, and who are at risk of being placed outside the home. The team consists of a team leader and three MST therapists.

The position is a permanent full-time employment. The work is 40 hours a week during the day, but within the position, one needs to be able to offer treatment/advice/home visits at flexible hours based on the clients' needs. As a therapist, scheduled on-call duty is also included every fourth week.

Job Responsibilities

As an MST therapist, you primarily work in the youth's home and other environments where the youth is present. The work involves analyzing the existing issues from a holistic perspective and collaboratively finding strategies with the family/network to address and resolve the problems.

You will be provided with basic training to become an MST therapist, weekly supervision and consultation on your cases, as well as further training in MST four times a year. You will participate in an active quality assurance effort to ensure fidelity to the method.

Qualifications

Social worker or other behavioral science higher education deemed suitable. Good knowledge of English is a requirement as training and part of the supervision is conducted in English. A valid driver's license, category B, is also a requirement for the position.

Experience in treatment work in the form of family work and/or work with children and adolescents is meritorious. Experience in cognitive behavioral therapy and systemic network work is also meritorious.

We are looking for a flexible person with good collaboration skills, who can work with families and their networks in a structured and independent manner. You need to have a good ability to handle feedback and evaluation in your work.
