Are you an experienced materials engineer with a passion for inorganic chemistry and surface physics? Do you want to work with advanced material solutions that contribute to the development of products in the defense industry? We are now looking for a driven and self-reliant materials engineer for our client, where you will have the opportunity to combine your specialist skills with broad questions in materials chemistry and process technology.

Working as a materials engineer 

As a materials engineer, you will be part of the Material and process engineering section, which is responsible for metals, composites, polymers, surface treatments, adhesives, rubber seals, paints, and coatings. In your role, you will particularly contribute deep expertise in inorganic chemistry and surface physics, and work on issues related to the structure, properties, and behavior of materials in various environments.

Main responsibilities

  • Support designers and systems engineers in the selection of materials and process technology, focusing on corrosion resistance, surface interactions, and long-term properties.
  • Participate in investigations regarding surface properties, such as adhesion, protective coatings, and surface finishing.
  • Develop supplier requirements and process descriptions, for example, for heat treatment, surface treatment, or curing cycles for composites.
  • Contribute to the qualification of suppliers and ensure that materials and processes meet high quality standards.
  • Find and develop collaborations with suppliers of materials and surface treatment technologies.

The role is located in Gothenburg.

You will be coached by a mentor at our client as well as a consulting manager at Nexer Tech Talent. As a consultant with us, you will be well taken care of and often invited to joint activities such as lectures, afterworks, and lunch meetings. After successfully completing the consulting assignment, the intention is that you will be offered a position with our client.  

We are looking for someone who: 

As a person, you are unpretentious, driven, and curious. You enjoy collaborating with different competencies, build trust in the team, and dare to stand by your results.

Furthermore, we see that you have:

  • Master's degree in chemical engineering, materials chemistry, or equivalent.
  • Documented knowledge and experience in inorganic chemistry and surface physics. 
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience that enables you to work independently and take an advisory role.
