Grand Hôtel is a classic landmark in the heart of central Stockholm. As one of Scandinavia's leading five-star deluxe hotels, Grand Hôtel combines a rich history with continuous development and refinement. The hotel currently has 279 rooms, of which 70 are suites and 11 are signature suites. The most spectacular is the Princess Lilian suite at a total of 330 sqm. Additionally, there are six restaurants; Verandan, Terrassen, and Cadierbaren, as well as Mathias Dahlgren's restaurants, a first-class spa, and 23 conference and banquet halls. The venues include the historic Vinterträdgården, Spegelsalen, and Bolinderska Palatset, complemented by new, modern facilities. Behind the scenes, we boast a florist department, butchery, cold kitchen, pastry shop, and various à la carte kitchens, as well as a wine cellar and Room Service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of our ongoing work to develop and ensure quality in our food and beverage department, we are looking for someone who is already working as a sous chef or is ready to take the next step in their career. With passion and knowledge, you will contribute to creating memorable taste experiences for our guests while being an organized operations leader for the team.

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in food, who feels comfortable in an event kitchen and wants to develop as a leader. We share a passion for the profession and prepare Swedish food with international influences using top-quality ingredients. Our events are unique, with varying numbers of guests, but service and quality always permeate the operation – and we expect this to be just as natural for you.

In your role, you will lead a team of five employees, including the head chef and assistant head chefs. The work requires flexibility and at times a fast pace, making stress resilience and a solution-oriented attitude a clear advantage. For the right person, the position offers both development, joy, and a rewarding work environment.

As our kitchen has several different departments, there are good opportunities for you to both develop and grow. Working hours vary and are scheduled for daytime, evenings, and weekends.

WHO ARE YOU?

  • We are looking for someone who is positive and structured
  • Has a genuine interest and passion for creating high-quality gastronomic experiences.
  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience working in a kitchen and have experience as a sous chef or first cook
  • Appreciates the variety that an event kitchen offers, where each event is unique and the number of guests varies.
  • We would like you to have an interest in leadership and want to develop both as a leader and within the company
  • Experience from event and banquet kitchens is an advantage
  • You have documented education in the profession or equivalent documented experience.
  • You have previous experience leading a team and feel comfortable making decisions regarding daily operations.
  • Everyone working with us must be at least 18 years old and speak Swedish and English.
