Responsibilities

As Malmö grows, the focus is on the people in the city. The city's valuable spaces need to be used efficiently and wisely so that more Malmö residents, businesses, and visitors can enjoy the city. Malmö's traffic and mobility plan sets goals for future travel in the city and is an important piece of the puzzle for Malmö to become a more accessible, healthy, and climate-neutral city. The Property and Street Office plans, develops, complements, and renovates the traffic system to achieve the city's goals.

As a project manager at the Property and Street Office, you will plan and implement urban development projects of varying sizes and scopes at different stages, focusing on design and contracting. Regardless of size, the complexity is high, as we almost exclusively operate in existing urban environments. The results of the projects therefore have a significant impact on the experience of the city. Here, you will become an important part!

You will have the opportunity to lead project teams consisting of technical specialists, consultants, and contractors. Together, you will deliver projects that improve the city for Malmö residents. You are responsible for the overall management of the projects, leading, steering, and following up. You contribute motivation and inspiration to your project team to create a good working environment. In this role, you will have many contacts internally, but also with the public, authorities, and other parties, such as VA-syd and Skånetrafiken.

The position is located in the Infrastructure Section of the Mobility Unit at the Property and Street Office. My name is Emilie Wieslander, and I will be your manager. It is important to me that there is an opportunity to be challenged and to develop, and that we have a good collaborative climate where everyone supports and helps each other. And that we have fun at work! Currently, we have 12 employees with different experiences in the unit, and we also have several hired project managers who help drive our projects forward.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for someone who is a trained civil or university engineer with a focus on road and water/city planning, etc. Alternatively, we see that you have very good and well-documented professional experience in the field, which we consider equivalent and merit-worthy.

You have many years of experience in driving projects within urban development with a focus on infrastructure. Experience in managing this type of project in the design and contracting phase is particularly meritorious. Experience in driving complex and large projects in dense urban environments is also an advantage.

Since your role as a project manager/street engineer requires many internal as well as external contacts, you need to communicate clearly and pedagogically, as well as have a good ability to collaborate with others. You have good knowledge of Swedish and can express yourself well in both speech and writing.

Your leadership is characterized by building trust and delivering results. Through clear communication of expectations and goals, you delegate and follow up. You inspire, create participation, and drive development together with your team and in collaboration with others. You have good collaborative skills, where you instill confidence and work to find solutions that benefit the whole in the best way. You are proactive and structured in your commitments and have good analytical skills.
