Role Description:

We are now looking for an API Developer/Software Engineer for the IKEA Knowledge Graph.

Core Technical Skills:

1. API Management & Design:

• Strong experience with Azure API Management (APIM) (policies, transformations, versioning, security).
• Proficiency in OpenAPI Specification design and documentation.
• Knowledge of RESTful API best practices (resource modeling, error handling, pagination).
• Experience with GraphQL APIs

2. Development & Testing:

• Hands-on experience with Postman (collection creation, test automation, environment variables).
• API mocking & contract-first development.
• Familiarity with unit testing & integration testing of APIs.

3. Event-Driven & Streaming:

• Good knowledge of Apache Kafka (topics, producers/consumers, event schema design, streaming APIs).
• Experience integrating Kafka with microservices and APIs.
• Understanding of event-driven architecture and real-time data pipelines.

4. CI/CD & DevOps:

• Proficiency with GitHub Actions (or equivalent CI/CD tools).
• API deployment automation (APIM, Function Apps, Containers, or Kubernetes).
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) (Optional but useful)

5. Security & Performance:

• Understanding of OAuth2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT.
• Knowledge of API Gateway security policies (rate limiting, throttling, IP restrictions).
• Experience with performance monitoring and logging using Splunk, or APIM analytics.

6. Networking & Cloud:

• Knowledge of Cloudflare for API routing, caching, and DDoS protection.
• DNS, SSL/TLS, and API traffic management.

Semantic & Knowledge Graph Skills (Plus):

• Understanding of semantic data modeling and knowledge graphs.
• Familiarity with RDF, SPARQL, OWL.
• Ability to design or query APIs exposing/consuming semantic graph data.

General Competencies:

• Strong problem-solving & debugging skills.
• Clear communication and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to write clean, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Experience in mentoring/junior developer support is a plus.
