Job responsibilities

As a Product Specialist in Chemistry at JAPE, you will play a key role in developing and improving chemical products, equipment, and accessories with a focus on functionality, environment, safety, and user-friendliness. You will work practically with testing and long-term testing while supporting colleagues and customers with technical expertise and training. You will own product documentation and product data – from recipes, chemical lists, and safety data sheets (SDS) to labels, web, and marketing materials – ensuring that all information is correct and up to date. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with laws and regulations and updating and adjusting work methods according to legal changes. The role also involves following up on quality and driving improvements, as well as handling product registration and contacts with authorities and actors such as the Chemical Agency, Building Materials Assessment, and SundaHus. In addition, you will contribute to JAPE's sustainability work and ISO certifications (9001, 14001, and 45001) by participating in the development of routines, internal audits, and reporting, ensuring that we meet applicable legal requirements and industry standards.

• Develop and improve chemical products, equipment, and accessories – from testing to technical support and training.
• Own product documentation and product data and ensure quality and registrations.
• Be responsible for authority contact, compliance with laws, and upcoming legal changes
• Contribute to sustainability work and ISO certifications through routines, audits, and reporting.

Education, experience, and personal qualities

• University degree in chemistry, environmental science, chemical engineering, or equivalent
• Experience in chemical product development within the manufacturing industry
• Very good knowledge of REACH, CLP, and other relevant chemical legislation
• Meritorious with knowledge of management systems for ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001
• Meritorious with experience in environmental assessments (e.g., LCA) and reporting to authorities
• Very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• Driving license B

We are looking for someone who is independent, structured, and responsible, with the ability to keep track of laws, regulations, and details in documentation. You are solution-oriented and technically curious, with the drive to develop and improve products and find practical ways forward. You are communicative and pedagogical – eager to share knowledge, engage others, and express yourself clearly both verbally and in writing. Your strength in written communication allows you to create accurate, user-friendly, and business-oriented texts. The role also requires you to make decisions in chemical engineering matters, with an understanding of both technology and business. We also believe you are creative and full of ideas, with an interest in product development, environment, and sustainability.
