The Department of Health and Care is responsible for providing care, support, and assistance to the elderly and people with disabilities, as well as providing support to their relatives. Our goal is to focus on the citizen and provide good conditions for an independent, stimulating, and safe living situation - around the clock. We are 2,500 employees who, in our various roles, provide support and care to the citizens who need it.

We are looking for someone interested in a monthly temporary position until the end of April, with the possibility of extension.

The Position and Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants a meaningful and developing job as a support assistant within Housing with Special Services at the sign language residence Albyvägen 13. You will be part of a competent team that offers support and service to our residents in their daily lives. It is important to note that the residence operates around the clock, which means that this position requires flexibility. You can expect to work evenings and night shifts with sleeping on-call duty. To succeed in the role of support assistant, it is crucial to always have a low-arousal approach. Your task is to be a reliable and supportive force in each resident's life, ensuring they feel safe with the support they receive.

Common Responsibilities Include:

• Individually tailored support for each resident.
• Assisting residents with shopping, cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
• Supporting residents in their leisure activities.
• Planning and documenting work in our operational system, Lifecare.
• Performing night shifts with sleeping on-call duty to ensure safety and support around the clock.
• Your mission is to create meaningful and independent lives for each resident, precisely according to their wishes.

You Who Apply to Us

Requirements:

We are looking for a competent support assistant with sign language skills and a completed high school education in areas such as the Child and Leisure Program, Health and Care Program, or equivalent qualifications according to the employer's assessment. Since you will be working in a sign language environment, it is a requirement that you master sign language.

It is of utmost importance that you possess advanced skills in sign language, as the residents only communicate through this visual language. Since the tasks include daily documentation in various systems, you are also expected to have experience using computers and digital tools.

Other Requirements for the Position:

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual, mental, or neuropsychiatric disabilities is meritorious.
• Experience with clarifying pedagogy.
• Experience with motivational interviewing.
• Knowledge of low-arousal approaches is a positive addition to your profile. We consider it meritorious if you have:
• Experience working with individuals who have intellectual, mental, or neuropsychiatric disabilities.
• Experience working within HSL (Health and Medical Services Act), especially regarding medication management and dressings.
• A B driver's license and proven experience as a skilled and safe driver.
