Project Leading Building Conservator, Stockholm

What is the work like as a project leading building conservator at KFS?
At KFS, we work as consultants for our owners and also for other clients. Most of our projects are renovation projects in churches and parish houses, but there is also new construction. In our larger projects, we work together in various roles.

In the role of project leading building conservator, you will work with heritage participation in projects and also be responsible for managing your own renovation projects. You will also contribute as an expert and work with both preliminary investigations and impact assessments. Other tasks include developing care and maintenance programs and providing advice on building conservation issues. You may perform expert control of cultural values according to the Planning and Building Act or heritage participation according to the Cultural Heritage Act.

As a project manager, you are responsible for the entire process from preliminary study to final inspection under the leadership of the project manager. This includes client relations, quality, technology, time, legal requirements, and finances. You will apply for building permits and approvals according to cultural heritage laws as well as church heritage compensation. We are a small organization, and you are responsible for the administration of the projects such as invoicing, Af parts, contracts, and minute writing. You primarily procure collaborative contracts and consultants for general consulting assignments. The role also includes presenting your projects to our clients, usually church politicians.

Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for someone with several years of experience working with cultural-historical buildings and handling building conservation issues. Experience in project management is an advantage, and it is important that you are accustomed to collaborating with many different professional groups. You have broad cultural-historical expertise and an academic education as a building or conservation conservator or equivalent competence through many years of work experience. You have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, and a B driver's license is required.

As a person, you are attentive and consultative in your demeanor, focusing on and prioritizing the needs of clients. You are structured and have the ability to plan both long-term and short-term. You are also interested in learning new things and communicate easily and pedagogically with others.
