Thorlabs is now looking to strengthen its operations with a technical buyer for our team in Mölndal.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a technical buyer, you will become part of our purchasing team, consisting of four experienced colleagues who together are responsible for ensuring an efficient and high-quality supply chain. The role involves close collaboration with internal departments to understand the business needs and ensure the purchase of high-quality mechanical components according to specific drawings and requirements.

Your main tasks will include managing new and existing contracts, conducting purchases, and following up on deliveries and quality requirements. The position also involves identifying and evaluating suppliers, both within Sweden and internationally. In this role, you will face challenges that require quick and well-founded decisions, either independently or in collaboration with colleagues, to handle material shortages or changes.

In addition, the position entails active engagement in continuously developing and improving our purchasing processes and routines to optimize operations and meet our customers' needs.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone with an education in engineering, supply chain, or a related field. You have at least three years of experience in technical purchasing, with a particular focus on mechanics, and you are accustomed to working in a business-oriented environment. Your technical expertise and interest make you well acquainted with drawing-specific components, CAD drawings, and technical documentation.

To succeed in this role, fluent knowledge of both Swedish and English is required, both spoken and written. You also have strong computer skills, with particularly good knowledge of Excel and the Office suite. Experience with ERP systems, especially Microsoft D365, is an advantage.

As a technical buyer, you will have many internal and external contacts, which places high demands on your communication skills and your ability to build and maintain relationships.

You have a good ability to independently plan and prioritize in a structured way to achieve the best possible results. You are proactive, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that contribute to the development of the business.
