The Safety and Security Unit belongs to the municipal management office, which is one of our six offices in Upplands-Bro municipality.

The unit consists of 10 employees with functions in both safety and security. The unit works municipality-wide through advice, support, and driving projects and development issues. We primarily work from the Safety Center in Bro center.

Job Description

Your mission is to act as a safety coordinator and support the municipality's six offices.

You are expected to take a comprehensive approach to safety issues with a focus on physical security, personnel security - aimed at preventing welfare crime, violent extremism, and strengthening the security culture in all municipal operations.

You are also expected to be able to solve tasks within the Act (2006:544) on municipalities' and regions' measures before and during extraordinary events in peacetime and heightened preparedness.

As a safety coordinator, your responsibilities include:

• Working according to the agreement between MSB and SKR on municipalities' work with crisis preparedness. Prioritized tasks may vary over time.
• Coordinating information, training, and exercises within the knowledge area.
• Supporting the unit manager in handling issues.
• Preventing and managing issues related to threats and violence.
• Personnel security aimed at preventing welfare crime.
• Driving efforts to counter violent extremism.
• Driving, developing, participating in, and following up on the municipality's overall work based on the municipality's governing documents and local cooperation agreements and action plans.
• Collaborating internally within the municipality and externally with authorities, other municipalities, and other stakeholders in the area.
• Monitoring the external environment within the knowledge area.
• Developing and implementing governance and support documents within the safety area.

The role is both operational and strategic, which means you sometimes need to quickly shift focus depending on the context.

In this assignment, you work municipality-wide and contribute to making Upplands-Bro a safe and secure municipality. Collaboration is an important part of the position, and you collaborate with both internal and external parties such as the police, rescue services, and civil society. The role also includes monitoring the external environment.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with an appropriate university or YH education in a subject area that the employer considers relevant for the position, e.g., safety/crisis preparedness, or other expertise and work experience that the employer assesses as equivalent. We also expect that you already have experience in the field.

We would like you to have:

• Experience of a coordinating nature.
• Good knowledge of relevant legislation for the position and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing.
• A pedagogical approach that allows you to hold engaging presentations and training sessions for groups.
• Experience working with safety issues within physical security and personnel security.
• Experience in public sector work.
• Experience writing governance documents, action plans, and procedures.

As a person, you find it easy to build relationships and collaborate with others. You are driven by learning new things, solving arising problems, and can independently drive work forward in a structured manner.

About the Position:

The position is a permanent employment. A probationary period may be applied. Start date according to agreement. The position is classified in a security class, so a security clearance will be conducted.
